Produced by our partner Box Studio and debuting filmmaker Dessi Nikko’s own company Film-Coated Pills, her short film ‘His Cannibal Granny’ went on to win a couple of international awards and be included in the official selections of numerous festivals all over the world. We are glad to announce that as of today, the film is available for free watch here, on Eastern ARTangels’ website.
‘His Cannibal Granny’ is based on Bulgarian writer Yordanka Beleva’s short story of the same name and tackles the sensitive issue of violence among children. Radostin is the new boy at school. His peculiar charm and kindness attract everybody’s attention and the school bullies start to feel jealous. In order to diminish his popularity, they spread a rumor about the cannibalistic past of Radostin’s grandmother.
We think that the topic is very important and society should discuss it more, that is why we decided to offer this cinematic approach on the issue for free watch.
